Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the Literacy efficiency of Indian Statesusing Fuzzy Data Envelopment Approach. This approach suggests a framework for evaluating the best performing State & Union territories in education by using a combination of various input and output variables. For this study, Total Population (15-24 aged), Amount allocated from Total Budget and Total Expenditure are considered as aninput variablewhereas Literacy Rate and Gross Enrolment Ratio are considered as output variables.By using a hybrid learning procedure, the proposed Fuzzy Inference System can construct an input-output mapping based on the form of fuzzy if-then rules and stipulated input-output data pairs. This analysis compares the States in India and assists us in determining which is the finest in education.
