Abstract

In process control, flow control is an immense challenge and conventional linear
P+I+D controllers cannot control it. Because of this, a campaign is launched to create a
better auto-tuning PID controller design for water distribution systems for the domestic's
needs. The first order process model was found using the process reaction curve method
and GA optimization techniques for each stable operating point. It is done using a realtime
PLC from Allen Bradley. According to the experimental results, the proposed control
scheme is capable of keeping set point tracking, rejecting disturbances, having nominal
time domain specifications, and lower integral square error.
