Abstract
This paper signifies the manufacture of a product in a single stage manufacturing system which may generate imperfect quality products. Such defective products are reworked using fuzzy optimization and trapezoidal numbers to find the total cost so as to reduce the overall production cost significantly. To achieve this objective, two inventory models are developed. The first model gives a unique solution for imperfect production system with rework and the second model highlights on imperfect production system with rework and shortage.
